When it comes to the best resorts for a destination wedding, we consistently recommend Palace Resorts to our couples.
From the beautiful resorts, excellent venue choices, fully customizable wedding packages, and compelling group benefits, weddings at Palace Resorts are one of our favorites!
Palace has resorts throughout Mexico and Jamaica as they offer couples an array of luxurious all-inclusive resorts — both adults-only and family-friendly — for destination weddings with wedding packages to suit every budget.
Here we discuss everything you need to know about Palace Resorts weddings, what they can offer you, and why this might be the perfect option for your destination wedding in the sunshine. We also hear from a couple who recently hosted their own Palace Resorts wedding in Jamaica…
Here’s a little more info on each of the nine (soon to be 10!) Palace Resorts, with most located in Mexico around Cancun and Riviera Maya.
Located in the heart of Cancun, moments from the local historical sites, Beach Palace is an all-inclusive luxury resort for families and couples looking for endless entertainment by day and night!
With four on-site restaurants, three swimming pools, and a full-service spa, this is an excellent option if you’re planning to invite kids to your wedding.
The biggest drawback (a pro for some people!) is that Beach Palace is in the Cancun hotel zone, which means the beach can be pretty busy, and you’re close to neighboring resorts.
If you’re okay with strangers strolling by your beach wedding or don’t necessarily want a beach wedding, this is less of a factor.
Sun Palace is a luxury oasis for couples only in Cancun. So not just adults-only but couples-only, meaning every room is a king bed, and the resort is geared toward romance and couples.
Expect refined elegance and pure romance on the blue-blue Caribbean ocean.
You and your guests will enjoy four specialty restaurants with world-class chefs and 3 bars with live daily and nightly entertainment, from musical acts to fire shows.
Guests staying here will find top-rated golfing at the nearby Moon Spa and Golf Club.
Because Sun Palace is couples only, it’s an excellent resort for a honeymoon or vacation, but we find there are better options for a destination wedding.
Moon Palace Cancun is one of the larger Palace Resorts offering something for everyone. There are two sections, Nizuc and Sunrise, with 17 gourmet dining options in total.
You’ll find top entertainment for kids and teens, including an arcade lounge, playrooms, and a wave simulator.
Also, expect more adult entertainment and a 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.
This resort offers some stunning wedding locations, including the picturesque Catholic chapel “Immaculate Conception”, if you’re planning to host a Catholic destination wedding.
Moon Palace Cancun is one of the best resorts for a destination wedding near Cancun. Moon Palace is also only about 10 minutes from the airport, making it an easy ride for your guests.
One of the most significant downsides to Moon Palace Cancun is the beach is just okay.
We’re okay with this considering the resort offers so much else and has beautiful pools and activities for the whole family. But if you’re a beach lover (like us!) or want a beach wedding, you may be a bit disappointed.
This excellent tropical option in Cancun offers lots to do for the whole family, including NINE pools… this is all-inclusive luxury on a grand scale!
You’ll find endless activities for all ages, including a world-class spa, an entire water park, and an indoor bowling alley.
We’re obsessed with the Grand at Moon Palace, one of our favorite resorts for a destination wedding near Cancun.
With that said two drawbacks to the Grand may or may not be a significant factor for you and your guests.
First, some resorts have 10+ room categories, but things are much simpler at the Grand. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, but you will only have a few room category options for your guests.
Along those lines, the rooms can be expensive. Typically rooms at the Grand at Moon Palace are 30% more expensive than rooms at Moon Palace. Don’t be fooled, though – these are different resorts, and we think the premium is worth it.
Dive into the luxury of Cozumel Palace, located on the small island of Cozumel, just off the coast of Playa Del Carmen.
Perfect for families or couples who love the water, this resort is a haven for diving and water sports, with one of the world’s most extensive coral reefs located close by.
Like Sun Palace, Cozumel Palace is fun for a vacation, but there are better resorts for a destination wedding, given the extra steps to get to Cozumel.
Located ideally in Playa Del Carmen’s Hotel Zone, Playacar Palace is a family-friendly resort with minimalistic decor, a fabulous array of restaurants, and a world-class Spa.
The swimming pools and kid’s clubs will keep younger guests busy.
Staying here will mean that adventurous guests can explore Mayan ruins nearby, plus the shops, restaurants, and nightlife of Fifth Avenue are just steps away.
While Moon Palace Cancun is a more popular choice for destination weddings, Playacar Palace presents an excellent alternative, particularly for guests who want to be in the heart of Playa Del Carmen.
Le Blanc Cancun is the perfect adults-only resort. You’ll enjoy refined dining and unlimited pampering at the number-one resort in Cancun.
Overlooking one of the most stunning beaches in Cancun, this is the more sophisticated option for your destination wedding.
You and your guests will enjoy the luxurious suites, each with a 2-person hot tub, the world-class spa, yoga, and pilates on site, and the state-of-the-art fitness center.
When we have a free weekend, we find a way to get to Le Blanc. It’s luxurious, it’s relaxing, and there’s no bad room at the resort.
Regarding destination weddings, the downsides to Le Blanc Cancun are that it’s located in the Cancun hotel zone, so the beach can get crowded, and neighboring resorts are nearby.
If you’re okay with a non-beach wedding, Le Blanc Cancun has a stunning terrace overlooking the Nichupté Lagoon, where you’ll be treated to jaw-dropping sunsets.
The other downside is that Le Blanc is a premium resort, similar to the Grand, so room rates tend to be higher than other adults-only resorts.
Over on the western side of Mexico, nestled on the Southern tip of the California Peninsula, where the Pacific Ocean meets the Gulf of California, Le Blanc Los Cabos offers charm and high-end luxury at every turn.
A beautiful adults-only option, Le Blanc Los Cabos offers four swimming pools, ultra-luxe amenities like the spa and wellness center, and an exquisite selection of restaurants.
Le Blanc Los Cabos is breathtaking, but the beach isn’t swimmable if you’re a beach lover. Additionally, depending on where your guests are traveling from, the west coast of Mexico can be challenging to get to for a destination wedding.
Despite the un-swimmable beach, Le Blanc Los Cabos is our favorite resort in Los Cabos for an adults-only destination wedding.
While most of the Palace Resorts are in Mexico, the brand did open a resort in Jamaica in 2015.
Moon Palace Jamaica is an excellent family-friendly option for your big day.
You’ll enjoy the all-inclusive luxury of a Palace Resort within the laid-back setting and stunning beaches Jamaica provides.
If you stay here, you and your guests will eat international and Jamaican cuisine, enjoy endless entertainment for all the family, and experience the largest spa on the island.
Moon Palace Jamaica has one of the best all-inclusive wedding packages for a family-friendly resort in Jamaica.
Located on the idyllic white sand beaches of La Costa del Coco, Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana is scheduled to open in the fall of 2024.
We’re so excited that Palace is bringing the luxurious, family-friendly brand to the stunning beaches of Punta Cana.
Now fingers crossed there are no delays, as this will be a fantastic resort for destination weddings in Punta Cana!
One of the reasons we love Palace Resorts is because of the extras they offer couples.
You can expect all-inclusive luxury at each of the Palace Resort options, with high-end dining and drinking available at every turn.
There are also some great perks that you can enjoy, whichever resort you have selected for your dream wedding, including:
We’ve shared an overview of Palace Resorts, so let’s dive into what it’s like hosting a wedding at a Palace resort and what they offer in terms of venues and packages.
In short – your wedding at any of the Palace Resorts will be breathtaking – with a picture-perfect backdrop of white sand, shimmering blue ocean, and seasonal flora and fauna as you say ‘I Do.’
The biggest thing to know about a destination wedding at a Palace resort is there are no standard “packages.
Unlike other resorts, like Secrets and Dreams, which offers the popular Beyond Memorable wedding package, Palace starts from scratch and helps you customize everything.
Even though they don’t offer a package, Palace offers several wedding Collections for you to consider as a starting place.
Again, all collections can be tailored to your specific needs and ideas – most of which are available at all nine resorts.
Choosing a Palace Resort wedding will mean that you will have access to the services of an on-site wedding specialist to ensure your wedding events run smoothly.
Expect special extras here, whichever collection you select, such as breakfast in bed the morning after the ceremony for the couple.
You will also benefit from the complimentary Honeymoon Package, which is always a lovely perk after the wedding.

Your big day should reflect your wishes and style ideas, so we encourage you to work with Palace Productions to tailor the package you select to fit your brief.
Palace Productions is Palace Resorts’ in-house events production company. They specialize in turning dream events into reality. And they do an incredible job!
Your dedicated Palace Productions specialist will help you with wedding essentials to help you celebrate in your style, from florals, decor, wedding cake, personalized dining menus, tableware, furniture, and live entertainment options.
Not only do we love Palace properties, but we love how much they value their wedding couples.
They know hosting a destination wedding is a big financial decision and want to help you budget properly.
To do that, they offer free wedding essentials and complimentary private events.
The free wedding essentials allow you to earn $20 in wedding credit per room per night, which you can apply to cake, decor, and more. In other words, the longer your guestlist, the more credit you have to use on your destination wedding.
In addition to the free wedding essentials credits, you can also earn complimentary private events.
For example, our average wedding is 40 rooms, so you’d earn 10 hours of private events with a wedding that size.
We’ve had couples with 150+ guests who can budget less than $10,000 for their wedding because of the various perks and benefits that Palace Resorts offers.
Our award-winning team has planned hundreds of destination weddings over the years, and we’re lucky to have worked with so many lovely couples over the years, like Kate and Bobby.
Kate and Bobby were married at the stunning Moon Palace Jamaica in February 2023. They loved every minute of their tropical wedding here and the 55 guests who joined them.
They spent around $16,000 on the wedding at the resort (excluding travel, dress, suit, rings, etc.) and opted to have some extra elements such as a DJ, a dance floor, and string lights for the reception. They also decided to fly in a photographer and videographer, although the resorts can always make local recommendations if you wish.
Kate says:
“We quickly decided we didn’t want to do a local wedding, so we started looking up YouTube videos of destination weddings.
We found Jack and fell in love with him.
We loved how he was a no-nonsense type of guy that wasn’t trying to sell anyone on anything – he was just stating facts and his knowledge.
We quickly decided that we wanted Jack to be the one to help us figure out a destination wedding for us.
My now husband reached out to him to ask about his availability and what the next steps would be. He said he was busy all the rest of 2022 and all of 2023 except for January.
So we said… alright, January it is! That’s how much Jack had impressed us, and we only wanted to work with him.
Between Jack and Penny, it was such a great experience. We had the wedding of our dreams at Moon Palace Jamaica in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using Vacationeeze for your wedding destination planning!”
